Garden design for the Métis International Garden Festival

This project celebrates the road as a public arena of expressing a political attitude, inspired by the news all around us where people are on the street to protest, to demonstrate, to vote, and to mourn. For a moment, the ordinary road becomes the center of the universe, a space to express a sense of community. The garden reflects and commemorates different cultures and all ages by their absence, as if the garden was a memory of their presence. W.A.N.T.E.D. has an objective to include the world in Métis. The project’s intention is to create a symbolic highway filled with an ocean of shoes. The shoes are as divers as possible as they are representative of different cultures, all age groups, and different personalities.
