Project: to design an innovative parking lot on an irregular plot.
This parking lot proposal applies a suburban residential typology to a commercial parking
setting. The format of the residential lawn bordered by chain-link fencing is exaggerated. Eight-foot fences surround plantings of tall grasses; the fencing extends three feet
into the division between parking spots, alluding to the private domain of each car.
The spaces are marked by a range of individual lawn ornaments, so that parking becomes a personal or even a political expression. |
